Closed to shoppers. Open for game days.
Airsoft in a disused shopping centre: an atrium, a row of shuttered shops, a dead escalator and a skylight that still works.
The site
Halcyon Walk traded until it didn't. The shops are shuttered, most of the lights are off and the skylight still works. We turned two floors of it into a place you can play, and kept everything else exactly as the shoppers left it.
The Atrium
Ground floor
The big open floor under the skylight. Long sightlines, planters for cover and two stalled escalators: the quickest way up and the most exposed.
The Shop Row
Ground floor
Shuttered units and narrow doorways. Close quarters where every corner is a decision and the shop signs still hang.
The Balcony
First floor
A walkway ringing the atrium, with balustrades to crouch behind and a view of everything that moves below.
The Food Court
Ground floor, safe zone
Plastic chairs and a closed noodle counter. The one place replicas stay off: briefings, reloads and a breather.
Game days
A game day is a block of play on the venue's calendar: a safety briefing first, then a run of games across the zones, with breaks in the food court between them.
Open play
Turn up alone or with a mate and get dropped into a mixed squad. The easiest way in if you have never played.
Private group
Book a block of the floor for your own squad: birthdays, stag and hen dos, clubs and work days out.
Scenario day
A themed day with objectives: hold the food court, escort the courier across the atrium, own the balcony.
How booking works
Pick a day
Choose a game day from the calendar. Spaces left are shown before you commit.
Choose how you play
Open play, a private group or a scenario day, then tell us how many are coming.
Confirm and read up
Confirm your details and read the safety briefing ahead of time, so check-in is quick.
Turn up and play
Check in at the old customer service desk, get kitted, get briefed, then the shutters go up.
Formats, dates, prices and the booking steps are sample copy for a concept. A real venue sets and publishes its own.
Kit and rules
Eye protection on, at all times in play areas
Full-seal eye protection stays on from the moment you leave the safe zone until you are back in it.
What to bring
- Advised
Sturdy closed shoes
Boots or trainers with grip. The floors are old terrazzo and some of the stairs are steel.
- Advised
Long sleeves and trousers
Layers you do not mind scuffing. Plain, dull colours work best.
- Advised
Water
Bring a bottle. There is a break between games, not a shop.
- Optional
Gloves
Handy on balustrades and shutters.
No kit of your own? Hire kit and eye protection may be available. Ask when you book.
Floor rules
Briefing first
Every game day starts with a safety briefing. No briefing, no play.
Marshals decide
Marshals in hi-vis are on the floor all day and can stop any game at any time.
The food court is off
Replicas are off and covered in the safe zone. That is where you reload and rest.
Mind the building
It is a real, old shopping centre. No climbing the stalled escalators or balustrades.
These rules are a sample. A real venue publishes its own.
Find us
The front of Halcyon Walk is shuttered, so you will not find us from the high street. Head for the side street and look for the green door.
